- Mid-level or senior Environmental Scientist
Description
An established environmental law firm is currently seeking a mid-level or senior Environmental Scientist to perform environmental due diligence services. The ideal candidate will have 3 or more years of experience with environmental due diligence services including: performing or reviewing Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, knowledge of state and federal regulatory programs and understanding of commercial real estate lending and redevelopment. We are seeking an ASTM-defined “Environmental Professional” to fill an as-needed 1099 or part-time position with the potential for the position to evolve into salaried full-time employee. No travel is required. While our office is in Kansas City, remote work is acceptable. Compensation is commensurate with experience. We are seeking candidates interested in long-term employment. The ideal candidate should have the following experience and skills:
At least three years of experience with environmental due diligence projects, such as Phase Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and have a P.E. or P.G. certification, or bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, or geology, or a related science and five years experience
Knowledge and experience in assessing various property types (including but not limited to gas stations, dry cleaners, printing facilities, industrial and manufacturing sites, and automotive repair and body shops)
Experience in evaluating all types of environmental regulatory cases, such as LUST, State Hazardous Wastes, and NPL sites
Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must
Time management, organizational and strong interpersonal skills are a must
