Summary of Role

The role will be responsible to develop, implement and manage all aspect of the SeqMatic strategic and tactical marketing program and calendar (technical and digital), expanding the reach of SeqMatic brand, website optimization, and obtaining quality sales leads.  This individual will contribute to short- and long-term marketing and financial objectives.

You will help us define our product narrative, define how we present SeqMatic value propositions through internal and external presentations, create compelling content, map our services and use cases in new innovative ways, and inspire our sales team to become great storytellers.

This role provides an excellent opportunity for personal career growth.  Current needs require a strong technical writer that can develop content for web/sales/marketing tools and manage our digital marketing contractors.   The intent is to eventually build a direct SeqMatic marketing team and expand our business nationally and internationally.

This hybrid role can balance between your home office and the company’s headquarters in Fremont CA. Requires the ability to travel up 15-25%.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Lead and define all elements of the Marketing mix.
    • Develop and deploy effective marketing plans, campaigns and tactical roadmaps with timelines and defined metrics to generate qualified sales leads and drive sales growth. Track lead generation and status via CRM (HubSpot).
    • Produce technical content such as White Papers, Web Copy, Blog Posts, Best Practices Guides and Tutorials.
    • Manage and support digital marketing contractors, i.e. website, SEO.
    • Develop product positioning and go-to-market strategy including brochures, sales presentations and sales scripts.


Develop and deliver product training, pricing strategy, customer education, sales training materials, competitive playbooks, etc. 

    • Define and maintain market sizing, customer segmentation, competitive intelligence / analysis, product definition and revenue projections for SeqMatic applications.
    • Conduct market research, attend conferences and meet with customers to understand product issues and customer preferences. Evaluate the market for signals that may become drivers of future product or service opportunities.





Requirements

Required Qualifications

    • Marketing Pro:  Minimum of 5 years’ experience in marketing in a commercial biotech company. Expertise in marketing into genomics, and / or general knowledge of the Clinical Trails and / or Clinical Diagnostics marketing is a plus.
    • Technical:  A firm scientific understanding of customers’ use of NGS and a wide range of scientific applications and use-cases. Single-cell sequencing knowledge a plus.
    • Writer:  Ability to develop, write and review technical documents based on customer needs.
    • Sound Decision-making Capabilities: Willing to take initiative and make decisions in absence of consensus when necessary.
    • Adaptable: Comfortable in a dynamic, face paced, evolving commercial environment.
    • Results-oriented: Capable of managing and driving the completion of multiple competing projects.
    • Strategic:  Ability to think strategically and execute a tactical plan, including leveraging large data sets to make data-driven decisions.
    • Multi-tasker: Knowledge of the core marketing responsibilities and business processes along with well-developed time management skills (prioritizes among multiple projects).
